Another one difficult to 'pigeon hole', just a fabulous piece of soul
music which should appeal to anyone who appreciates music for what it
is. From the same Washington D.C. label that gave us the wonderful
record by The Differences (posted a few days ago), but only another four releases besides these two.
Gene (Eugene Dorsett) & Eddie (Best Jr.) released six singles on Baltimore's Ru-Jac label
between 1968-71. This single, for some reason, was also released on Mon'ca and
their third Ru-Jac single 'It's So Hard' was a re-recorded version of a doo-wop version they released on Tonjo 556 as Eddie & Gene & The Nitecaps. There's a soundclip of both versions on SirShambling if you're interested in comparing them.
