R.I.P. Gerry Marsden - You'll Never Walk Alone

This is not soul related, but whilst looking for a track on Amazon  I found myself on their Top 100 albums page ... and after the announcement yesterday of the death of Gerry Marsden (of Gerry & The Pacemakers fame) who recorded, what would become the Liverpool FC anthem, 'You'll Never Walk Alone' there are 4 compilations of his in the top 50 #5, #7, #35 and #45!

The group only had 9 UK hits between 1963-65, although 6 of them were top 10, the first 3 were #1 and the fourth was #2, another 'scouse' anthem 'Ferry Across The Mersey' was #9.

Anyway, it's not really soul ... but is sort of 'soulful', and means a lot to a lot of people here in the UK, especially Liverpool, and is very pertinent for the times we are all currently going through, so I thought I'd post their version (and probably the best known) of Rodgers & Hammerstein's 'You'll Never Walk Alone'. It's the official video of the re-release on the 50th anniversary in 2013.
