Already reported today:
UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson and Health Secretary, Matt Hancock have tested positive for COVID-19 and Chief Medical Officer, Chris Whitty is self-isolating with symptoms.
181 new deaths in UK
769 new deaths in Spain
969 new deaths in Italy
UK Testing
113,777 people tested
14,543 tested positive 12.8% (up from 11,558 yesterday)
2,885 new cases so far today (almost exactly double of that 2 days ago 1,452)
Sadly this confirms what I predicted last week (and the government has now confirmed it) that cases are doubling every 3-4 days and we look very likely to hit the predicted 16,000 figure tomorrow.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE .... STAY AT HOME
P.S. Watched an interview with a US trade union official last night ... if we think we may have it hard in UK think about 3.3 million applying for dole in US who automatically lose their health care from their employers when they lose their job! It's bad enough worrying that you may be hospitalised without the worry of how you will pay for it!
US
President Trump continues his 'bunker mentality', after already stopping flights from Europe, he seems to think that sending troops to guard the Canadian and Mexican border will keep out COVID-19. The virus is already there so are these some sort of deflection tactics? The economy is 'tanking' and his 'strange' attitude to COVID-19 (thinking it will be all over by Easter among other things) will probably ensure that he is not re-elected. So, a least something good may come out of this but how many will suffer in the interim?
