Object Heavy [2023] - Love & Gravity [Color Red] (Full Album)

Object Heavy is a five-piece band from Arcata, CA, consisting of Richard Love (vocals), Brian Swislow (keys), Leo Plummer (guitar), Ian Taylor (bass), and Sam Kaplan-Good (drums).

They made some noise with their last single "For The Better" in Nov '22 at which time they announced a forthcoming debut album "Love & Gravity". The album was released yesterday (27 Jan) and is produced by Kelly Finnegan (Monophonics). 

The previous single was their fourth single of last year and their only other release (currently listed) was from 2019 which is a Jam In The Van live EP. The other singles were "Feel Right", "Alone"  and "Righteous Walk", all included on the album.

I'm sorry to say that nothing new on the album outstrips the single "For The Better", with perhaps "Reflection" coming the closest.

Object Heavy [2022] - For The Better [Color Red]

Object Heavy is a four-pieced band from Arcata, CA, consisting Brian Swislow (keys), Leo Plummer (guitar), Ian Taylor (bass), and Sam Kaplan-Good (drums).

Their debut album "Love & Gravity", produced by Kelly Finnegan (Monophonics), is due out shortly. In the meantime their latest single is the superb "For The Better" released on 4 Nov. written by the band and Finnegan, If the rest of the material on the album is like this the we are in for a treat! I can see this being absolutely 'hammered' on modern soul dancefloors! It reminds me in tempo and feel to Sean Oliver's "You And Me" which was reissued last year by One World.

It's their fourth single this year and the only other release was from 2019 which is a Jam In The Van live EP.
