Kirby & Rapsody [2023] - Eve Gene [Self Released]

A new, lovers rock style, single titled "Eve Gene" is out today from Kirby who collaborates with  three times Grammy nominated rapper Rapsody (Marlana Evans) who made her debut on 9th Wonder's second album "The Dream Merchant Vol. 2 in 2007. She was nominated for two Grammys for her second album "Laila's Wisdom" (2017).

The self proclaimed 'Granddaughter of Soul', Kirby, last appeared on these pages as a featured artist on Adeline's "Adonis" which she co-wrote.

Adi Oasis Feat. KIRBY [2022] - Adonis [Unity Records]

After performing in other bands for years, Adi Oasis went solo in 2018 as Adeline, (Adeline M. Petricien) releasing an album alongside two EPs and collaborating with the likes of Masego, Blue Lab Beats, The Shapeshifters and others and writing and producing under the moniker Nightshade with her partner Morgan Wiley .

She goes from strength to strength with her last single, "Get It, Got It", being arguably her best. Not resting on her laurels having released that only on 16 Oct, hot on its heels comes a new single featuring KIRBY (Kirby Lauryen Dockery), another artist with a popular current single "Take Care" (13 Oct), on a song written together called "Adonis" (posted on promo last week 7 Nov) which is out today (16 Nov 2022). Note, that the promo version was clean but this one is explicit!

Kirby is also known for her writing being behind the global chart topper "FourFiveSeconds" by Rhianna, Kanye West and even Paul Mcartney. 

The new single holds a retro-futuristic sound filled with trumpets, jazz rhythms and smooth harmonies from the two singers with its own unique style.

KIRBY [2022] - Take Care [Self Released]

Kirby (Lauryen) is Memphis born and Southaven, Mississippi bred and calls herself the 'Granddaughter of Soul" and claims that, rather than a singer/songwriter, she is a song therapist stating that "I sing and I write to help people heal. One note at a time."

She is a graduate of Berklee College Of Music and built her career by writing a song a day on YouTube for 275 consecutive days. She has written songs recorded by Christina Aguilera, Beyoncé, Toni Braxton, John Legend, Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Kanye West & Paul McCartney.

She last featured on these pages on 12 Aug 2021 with a double single "Break A Heart For Me" and "Boyz II Men". Since then she's released another nine singles, which for one reason or another haven't been posted, with the latest single "Take Care" being released yesterday (13 Oct 2022), a jazzy neo soul tune which is one of her best.
