JKabel [2024] - Mighty High [Self Released] (Full Album)

The prolific JKabel releases his new album "Mighty High" today dedicated to his grandfather William Holloway. It's a whopping 18 tracker which we believe is now his 7th full album since 2020.

His last album, "Beige Living Room", was released just over a year ago on Valentine's Day '23. Unfortunately for him, it was released on the same week as October London, Will Downing and Luther Vandross albums so may have got somewhat overlooked in the mix.

Since then he has released seven singles, all but the first, "Unnecessary (Djsoulbr Oldschool Remix)" (which is a remix of a track from "Beige Living Room"), are included on the album.

If you've followed the blog for any time you will know all about JKabel (Jarrod Kabel Holloway) from Florida as we have posted most of his recent material which is contemporary soul with an inspirational message.

On "Lessons Learned" he is joined by Tamesha Pruett-Ray who also featured on the single "My Mind Stays On Jesus" in Oct '22. Ms Pruett-Ray is worship leader/music director at New Beginning Missionary Baptist Church in Brenham, TX, who released a solo album "Beautiful Savior" in 2017.

It's difficult choosing standouts from 18 tracks, but if we eliminate the seven already released as singles and focus only on the new material, we are leaning towards the opening track, "The Devil Is Busy", but of course you will have your own favourites.

JKabel [2023] - Lawd Hammercy [Self Released]

In the first week of July 'The Ambassador of Rhythm & Bible', JKabel, delivered two singles on the same day "Make You Believe" and "Praying Woman". He returns on the 1st of the month with his latest contemporary gospel offering offering "Lawd Hammercy" (i.e. Lord have mercy).

The single is from his forthcoming album "Mighty High".

Regular visitors to these pages will be well familiar with the voice of JKabel. Today he has released not one, but two, new singles "Make You Believe" and "Praying Woman".

It's his second and third single since his first "There's No Place" following his album "Beige Living Room" in Feb. All are new songs not included on the album.

JKabel [2023] - Beige Living Room [Self Released] (Full Album)

The latest, and sixth, album from JKabel, "Biege Living Room", was posted with samples from promo at the weekend. It was officially released yesterday but has only just landed on Spotify today and isn't showing on Amazon (sales sites) as yet but is available direct from his website. There appears to be three extra tracks from the promo which are interludes i.e. The Beige Living Room  Pt. 1, Pt. 2 & Pt. 3.

Jared Kabel Holloway aka JKABEL (pronounced Jay-Kay-Bul) is originally from Florida. He learnt to play the piano at a young age and then went to college to study acting which led to him touring with a stage play in 2005 for three years. In the noughties he toured with Angie Stone, Dave Hollister, Christopher Williams, Vanessa Williams and Latoya London, amongst others. When that ended in 2008 he started writing songs and relocated to Minnesota in 2013. He released his debut R&B single "Do What You Wanna Do" in 2016.

His latest album "Biege Living Room" is set for release on Valentines Day (14 Feb 2023) which will be his sixth album since his first in 2020. All his music (albums and singles) are available directly from his website and the usual digital platforms.

Two of the tracks from the new album have been released as singles as teasers, "My Mind Stays On Jesus" (28 Oct '22) and "Discernment" (7 Dec '22).

Those who have listened to his music will agree that JKABEL has a distinctive sound which is soulful, contemporary gospel. 

At the time of the release of his last album last June we mentioned that we had been blessed with some excellent albums at that time (such as Michon Young "LLE Vol 3 Conversation Piece", Blue Soul Ten "This Is Worth It", Mica Millar "Heaven Knows", Tyra LeVone  "Chronicles Of Life") and again the competition is fierce with new albums this weekend from Will Downing, October London and Raheem DeVaughn as well as recent offerings from Kyle Jason and Rodney Stith and a few others to contend with.

Yet again, it's a consistent set and tricky trying to choose standouts, but apart from the two singles, the ones that resonate on first listen are "Unnecessary", "Love Again" and "Frienemies" but that is likely to change with further listens as this is an album you need to listen to again and again.
