Misha & Deborah Bond & Jussi Halme & Soul Food Horns [2023] - A Night In Rio Pt. 2 [feels right]

"A Night In Rio" was released on 14 Apr credited to Jussi Halme, Misha & Soul Food Horns as an instrumental. It has now been released as "A Night In Rio Pt. 2" last Friday (28 Apr) with Misha taking lead billing and with the inclusion of Debórah Bond on vocals which elevates it considerably.

Jussi Halme is a composer/pianist from Finland. Misha (Mika Kurvinen) has featured here on numerous occasions and is a producer from Helsink. The Soul Food Horns is a collective of horn players from Austin, Chicago and Amsterdam. Ms Bond is from Washington D.C. who we last heard from in Oct '22 with a set of Fastlaine Remixes of "compass:I" tItled "COMPASS:1.5".

Debórah Bond [2022] - COMPASS: 1.5 [Splash Blue] (Full Album)

The new album "COMPASS: 1.5" from Debórah Bond should look familiar as it contains eight of the nine tracks on "Compass: 1"  (released in Mar 2021) but with a difference they are all Fastlaine Remixes plus two new tracks "ONE POINT 5" AND "THIRTY SIX".

In Feb this year she also released an album "Bonded Sessions 2020 (Live Version)" of live versions of five of the tracks 

I'll let you decide if the Fastlaine Remixes add anything to the originals!

A remix of "Patience (What Does It Mean Remix​?​)" with TallBlackGuy was also released earlier in the week.

Debórah Bond [2022] - Bonded Sessions 2020 (Live Version) [Self Released] (Full EP)

This five track EP "Bonded Sessions 2020" from Debórah Bond was released a month ago (4 Feb 2022) on Bandcamp, but as all tracks are live versions of tracks from her "compass:I" album released a year ago (5 Mar 2021) I didn't post it. 

It has now got a wider release today (4 Mar 2022) on the majors DSP so I suppose It should really be posted.

They are live and unrehearsed tracks recorded in Nov 2020 prior to the album release.

"compass: I" topped the Global Soul Chart at the end of March 2021 and was also top 5 in the UK Soul Chart in April 2021.

Deborah Bond [2021] - Time [Splash Blue]

Debórah Bond released her latest album 'compass: I' back in early March and a track from it that has been receiving a lot of attention is 'Time'. On 17 Apr 2021 a video was published on her YT channel. The video is set in the 50s and recorded at Baltimore's 'Keystone Korner"'Jazz Club shot in black and white. In the video she appears intoxicated, so I would guess it's based on / inspired by Billie Holiday?

Deborah Bond [2021] - compass: I [Splash Blue] (Full Album)

Deborah Bond's new album 'compass: I' dropped today (5 Mar 2021). I believe that this will be her third solo album to date, having released her debut 'DayAfter' in 2003 and 'Madame Palindrome' in 2011. 

She has been performing with Incognito for several years and had a solo hit earlier this year with 'Radio' which is included on the album.  The other standout track is 'stride', but the album is pretty good throughout.
