Dabeull [2024] - Analog Love [Roche Musique] (Full Album)

Parisian producer David Said, under his musical alias Dabeull, heralded his latest album "Analog Love" with the single "Body Heat", and a tongue in cheek video, last month.

The album arrived on 12 April. As well as his regular cohorts Holybrune (Laura Chaudet) and DJ/producer/musician Rude Jude (Julian Getreau), he is assisted by Reva DeVito, Jordan Lee, Ferdi and Dezzy Hollow. 

As anticipated, the album has and 80s retro vibe which Said claims in his video trailer was recorded on the same analogue mixing console used for Michael Jackson's Thriller album. Whether true, or he's spinning us a yarn, we're left to guess.

Dabeull & HolyBrune [2024] - Body Heat [Roche Musique]

You won't be surprised to learn that Dabeull (David Said) is a French funk producer and singer Holybrune (Laura Chaudet) is also French. 

Their new single "Body Heat" has a throwback 80s boogie funk sound and is the lead single from a new album "Analog Love" due on 12 Apr. In the trailer video for it below, Dabeull states that it has been recorded on the same analog mixing console used for Michael Jackson's Thriller album.

They featured here once before in May '21 with a cover of RAH Band's "Message From The Stars", which also included DJ/producer/musician Rude Jude (Julian Getreau) who co-wrote the new single with Dabeull & HolyBrune.

Dabeull, Holybrune, Rude Jude [2021] - Messages From The Stars [Dabeull Records]

A throwback tune, sounding very much like the sort of stuff that Shakatak were doing in the 80s, which isn't surprising, as the track was originally recorded by the RAH Band in 1983. The RAH Band was (still is) a UK studio group formed by Richard Anthony Hewson (RAH) and the vocalist on the original was his wife Liz (Elizabeth Hewson).

This is a fairly faithful cover of the original version for those who like the 80s electro jazz/funk sound, which to me is completely devoid of any 'soul', it's basically a lightweight dance tune.

I can't find much info on the three artists except that Rude Jude is a DJ/producer from London, Dabeull is a French funk producer and the singer is Holybrune (aka Laura Chaudet) who is also French.
