A superb live recording by Chaz Shepherd with The Rocha Collective
with "Untitled "How Does It Feel"", which come across as a blend of Donny Hathaway and Rance Allen. It is,
of course, a cover of D'Angelo's song from 1999 which
D'Angelo co-wrote with Raphael Saadiq (included below).
Definitely one for the connoisseurs, as this is real soul with a bit of
jazz of the purist quality and is almost 11 minutes long.
Chaz Shepherd released an album last Jun called "Free" and another back in Oct 2010 titled "Love & Truth".
Shepherd is also an actor and featured in a US TV series "Me And The
Boys" in the mid 90s . He portrayed Al Bryant in the miniseries The
Temptations in 1998. Bryant was a member of The Distants who became The
Elgins before becoming known as The Temptations, Bryant was fired from the
group in Dec 1963 after an altercation on stage following an incident earlier in the year in the dressing room and was replaced by David
Ruffin.
His latest acting role was playing gospel artist Marvin Sapp in "Never
Would Have Made It: The Marvin Sapp Story" last August.
