Richard Alexander Davis follows his last single in Oct 2020,
a cover of Sherrick's 1987 classic "Just Call" which featured Don-E (video below), with "4ever!" released today (2 Sep 2022). The single is from a forthcoming EP written
and produced by Don McLean (aka Don-E).
His first taste success was winning the Melody Maker Battle of the
Bands and then went on to an ITV Music Competition with his band Mixed
Breed.
In the 80s he worked with US musicians playing funk and soul
standards of the time on the club circuit. By the 1990s he signed as a
solo artist to Hysteria Record and charted with "Don't Stop Believing, Party On" in 1995. He was later involved with Absolute (who produced The
Spice Girls) who produced the "Deep Inside" which was also was a sizeable hit for him.
To date he has recorded two albums "Richard Alexander Davis" (2008) and "Loving You Direct" (2009) and has also featured on the highly acclaimed "Soul
Unsigned" compilation series.
He is the cousin of the late Sugar Minott and has worked along side
Eddy Grant, The Night Crawlers and supported Rick Clark, Omar, Slick,
The Real Thing, Janet Jackson and many others.
