J. DAPHANEY (Joaquina Daphaney) was born and raised on
the south side of Chicago to a family of singers native to
Mississippi.
In 2008 she was a backing singer for David Cassidy and performed with
him on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
J. released her debut album "Love, Life & R&B" in 2018 and had a UK Soul Chart entry with "Love Star" in Feb 2021 and again in April 2021 with "Can't Wait 2 Luv U" and more recently in June this year with MS1 Project and "Set It Off".
Also in June she featured on a soulful house track with
The Shamanic (Ralphi Rosario and Craig J Snider) on their single "Higher Ground". (video below)
Today, on US Independence Day, she has a new single "Supa Love".
