Khalea Lynee (Hayes) is from St. Petersburg, FL, and was a contestant on The
Voice season 17 (2019) who as mentored by John Legend.
She had already released a single in 2011 "I Know" but today (27 May 2022) has released a, self-titled and self-written,
debut six track EP.
It's timeless, classic soul music and a solid set which has elements of
southern soul stylings. If pushed on choosing standouts, I think the
tracks most likely to have wider appeal would be "This Love" and "Let Go" but I also particularly like the ballad "Can't Let You Go".
A couple of tracks have videos "Sweet Love" which is a bit of a bluesy tune and "This Love" (for which embedding has been disabled but click on link to go to YouTube).
She also has several others of live
covers so I've included a cover of Whitney Houston's #1 hit "Saving All My
Love For You" to show that this girl can really sang!
