Following Muni Long's Amazon Original single on 24 Feb here's another
released today (8 Mar 2022) by Tamera with a contemporary cover of
Roberta Flack's 1973 classic "Killing Me Softly" updated later by The Fugees & Lauryn Hill (1996).
She has posted a live video on her YouTube channel 2 hours ago
and this on her facebook page literally an hour ago ... so this is hot off the press!
"In honour of international women’s day I linked up with
@amazonmusicuk @amazonmusic to make this little gem 💎 my own take of
“killing me softly” with my incredible band! Thanks To everyone
involved"
So, as you'd expect, it's only available from
Amazon, click link or image below to be directed to it.
I've not come across her before and can't find a lot of information about
her but it transpires she is Tamera Foster from Gravesend, Kent, and was a
contestant in series 10 of X Factor in 2013. She entered as a 16 year old in
a duo Silver Rock with Jerrie Bafundila (Jerrie Dila) but the judges
saw the potential of each as solo artists and split them up. Tamera made the
finals and came fifth in the competition mentored by Nicole
Scherzinger.
She's released six singles and EP and two albums since 2019. Her latest
release is a five track EP, "Afrodite", (18 Nov 2021) (the title apparently is a nod to her Greek and African
heritage) with "Good Love", which features Tay Iwar, being the standout track.
