Cocoa St. James is a singer/songwriter born and raised in Detroit and to date has self released
three full length albums, an EP and a couple of singles since 2011.
After a long hiatus, Cocoa is back with a new project being led by her new
single "Inside Me" released on
Bandcamp on
11 Feb 2022.
Being a product of Motown had an influence on her very early in life. She
started her songwriting journey as a young schoolgirl who was obsessed
with creating lyrics and poetry. She took an interest singing in choirs
but remained a background vocalist for many years. Cocoa was also a ghost
writer for many talented friends throughout Detroit and has collaborated
with many artists.
After being blessed with the amazing opportunity to tour Italy with a
gospel singing group, she decided that it was time to create her own
spotlight.
