Doc City [2021] - Welcome to Doc City [Self Released] (Full Album)

Definitely the album of the day (so far). This is a classy, jazz flavoured, album from Doc City titled "Welcome to Doc City". It is the only release listed on DSPs but he did release at least one other album "Kindred Spirits" in 2002.

Doc City is an alias/stage name for Clarence Taylor, MD (hence Doc?), who wrote all eight original songs.  The two other songs are covers of Sade's "Sweetest Taboo" and an Irving Berlin song  "What'll I Do".

My standouts are "What Love Is", "Did You Choose?", "Sweetest Taboo", "No Goodbyes" along with "When You Are Near" and "Heart Just Won't Give Up" now that the album has been more fully digested. It really is a classy album for connoisseurs.

Try as I might, I'm not able to find any info about the artist which makes me wonder whether this has been in the can for years and only just released?

UPDATE:
Thanks to whoever it was who left a comment with some details about the band.

Keyboardist/vocalist Clarence Taylor, M.D. presents an album which reflects his eclectic view of music -- it's a smooth jazz creation blending soul, funk, Latin, blues and much more. He's joined by Joe Hunter, Carol Veto, Steve Cox, Kenny Davis, Bob Ferazza, Dan Wall, Kenny Anderson, Cedric Napoleon, John Morton, Tony McClung and others.

An anonymous comment was left directing me to Doc City's website and has confirmed that this is indeed a new album and not previously unreleased recordings.
