Derrick Givens started singing and acting at the age of 8
years old appearing in several commercials as a child. He has written
several tunes for George Benson and has performed on albums for Stevie
Wonder, Gwen Guthrie and several other major recording artists.
He was a member of The Givens Family who released a handful of singles on Sylvia Robinson's Sugar Hill label in the late 70s/early 80s.
He's released a couple of solo singles "You Know I Love You" in 2010 and "Come Back To Me" in 2012.
In 2015 he released his debut album "Once Again" which may have had limited release as it has now been released again on
17 Oct 2021, so I guess 'technically' it's a reissue, but that shouldn't prevent it being played and promoted!
