Marielle Tienzo is a 19/20 year old Filipino/American from the San
Francisco Bay Area who broke through in 2020 and has released around six
singles/EPs, with this being her second album.
The album is mellow and downbeat neo soul in the Sade school of soul.
'Excuses', for me, is easily the standout track. Two of the previous singles, 'Bitter' (which contains a, now obligatory, rap from Brown Lotus) and
'Tomorrow', appear on the album.
The album has been out a couple of weeks, since 30 Apr 2021. It won't
set the world alight, but it's pleasant enough without being
outstanding.
