MF Robots (Music For Robots) is a group set up in 2018 by Brand New
Heavies members Jan Kincaid and Dawn Joseph. The name is a dig at how
generic music has become and I couldn't agree more. The amount of
R&B tracks that sound alike and all the remixes of 70s/80s disco tunes
has become such a yawn.
Having said that, this single is also 'derivative' of the 80s/90s acid
jazz sound, but then Brand New Heavies were one of the originators of the
sound and Jan Kinaid was a founder member of the group.
This is the third single released from a forthcoming album 'Break The
Wall'. Apparently is is a 'refit' of a previous single
'Mother Funkin' Robots'
which injects a latin vibe into it, personally I don't hear it.
