Omar Wilson [2022] - Turn Off The Lights [BSE Recordings]

Omar Wilson is from Norwall, CT and is a three time Apollo winner from 2007. He released his first single 'Never Again' in 2012 and his debut album 'Living Legend' in 2019. 

Over the last few years he's recorded several covers of classic soul songs. He's back with another Teddy Pendergrass cover, he did "Close The Door" in Nov 2021. Today (15 Jul 2022) he's released "Turn Off The Lights" from "Teddy" 1979 (also released as a single.

Omar Wilson [2022] - I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know [BSE Recordings]

Omar Wilson is back with another cover of a classic soul song. This time covering the, Al Kooper penned, Blood, Sweat & Tears sung and Donny Hathaway covered, song "I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know".

The song has been covered many times since the original version appeared on Blood, Sweat & Tears debut album "Child Is Father To The Man" in 1968. The first cover was by Tina Britt in 1969 on her only album "Blue All The Way". I've included the versions already mentioned along with a live clip of Amy Winehouse live in Paris in 2007 and also Jarrod Lawson live in Manchester 2014.

Omar Wilson [2021] - If You Think You're Lonely Now [BSE Recordings]

A new cover of the Bobby Womack deep soul ballad from his iconic 'The Poet' album from 1981 on Beverly Glen has been released by Omar Wilson on 16 Apr 2021. A brave move tackling the legendary 'Last Soul Man', but I think he's pulled it off.

K-Ci (Cedric Hailey) of K Ci & JoJo also did a nice version in 1994.
