We don't know how we missed this. The visualiser for Erin Stephenson's "Almost" has been out since 15 Feb but wasn't available when we initially posted the song on 9 Feb, so here it is now.

A good enough reason to remind ourselves of a great song that will inevitably be in many end of year 'best of' lists.

Erin Stevenson [2024] - Almost [Innervision Records]

Erin Stevenson is from Houston, TX, and at ten years old was a member of a group called "Girls Tyme" who went on to become Destiny's Child. In her adulthood she quit her job at NASA and the next day was singing backing vocals on tour with Janet Jackson. She has also sang background for the likes of Justin Timberlake, Pharrell Williams, Duran Duran, Nicki Minaj, John Legend, Jennifer Lopez, Ciara and Rihanna.

Her debut album "Naked" was released in Nov '17 with "Hangin'" from it making UK soul chart top 10. The album includes a good version of S.O.S. Band's "Tell Me". 

Erin's last single "Smooth Soul" (last March featuring jazz saxophonist Marion Meadows) was very well received and, after a Christmas single, her new single is "Almost" released today.

She's released an album, EP and around eight singles since 2015, a few being covers i.e. Luther's "Never Too Much" and Des'ree's 1994 hit "You Gotta Be". The others are originals on which she contributed to their composition.

Her last single was "Believe" featuring award winning jazz guitarist Paul Brown in Aug 2022 which she now follows with "Smooth Soul" released today featuring jazz saxophonist Marion Meadows.
