David Scott [2023] - BUMPY NIGHTS [V. Sconney Entertainment] (Full EP)

If you cast your mind back to late summer 2021 you may recall this EP "Bumpy Nights" from David Scott being released then following a double single in Apr '21 titled "Still R&B" consisting of "Stepp" and "You Don't Have To Be Hard" which got loads of airplay at the time.

Well, it seems that the EP has been re-released last Friday (5 May '23) with the original six track plus the inclusion of "Stepp". So if you missed it in 2021 you can grab it now.

At the time of his previous releases we were unable to find anything about David Scott and it is still the case but he certainly sounds like a veteran singer and now there is a photo of him on the EP cover.

David Scott [2021] - Bumpy Nights [V Sconney Entertainment] (Full EP)

The 'elusive' David Scott who I can find nothing about as there are several artists with the same (fairly common) name and his music is conflated on all DSP's with several other artists of the same name.

He had a big tune in the UK back in April with a two sided single titled "Still R&B" which included "You Don't Have To Be Hard" and "Stepp", with the former getting most attention.

Today (18 Aug 2021) he has released a six track EP "Bumpy Nights" which contains "You Don't Have To Be Hard" (still the standout track) but not "Stepp".

I would guess he is an older artist from his voice, so has possibly released other material or was a member of a group. I did a bit of digging in April when I posted the last release and perhaps narrowed him down to Cincinnati based on the record label, but could be barking up the wrong tree.

If anyone knows anything about this artist then please leave a comment.

David Scott [2021] - Still R&B (Stepp / You Don't Have To Be Hard) [V Sconney Entertainment] (Full EP)

Another great release out yesterday (22 Apr 2021) comes from David Scott. It's a double-sider /EP featuring two good tracks 'Stepp' and 'You Don't Have To Be Hard'.

'Stepp', as you would have guessed, is a stepper in which, right at the end, he pinches a line from Charlie Wilson's 'There Goes My Baby' released in 2009 on Uncle Charlie.

I can't separate the two tracks as they are both equally as good so I'll post both.

With a fairly common name, I can't find any info on the artist, and he only has this EP posted on Spotify, but the voice sounds seasoned, so I'd be surprised if he was a new artist.

A bit of google sleuthing discovers that V Sconney Entertainment is based in Cincinnati, OH, so, if it's his own company, then that is where I guess he's from. However, the registered directors are Damon Snellgrove and Vanessa Calhoun, so perhaps not. A bit of further digging and it appears that Damon Snellgrove is producer SpaceBassDJ who has also released material on the label (electro house stuff) and I hazard a guess that Vanessa Calhoun is his wife/partner, but that doesn't really get us nearer to finding out who David Scott is!
