Jully Black (Jullyann Gordon) is from Toronto and has been active since 1995 aged 19 and has been labelled as 'Canada's Queen of R&B'. She seems to be a well kept secret outside of Canada. Her biggest hit came in 2007 with a cover of Etta James' "Seven Day Fool" (1961) (video below) which was a top 10 hit in Canada.
Her fourth single already this year is "Half Empty" released last Friday (27 May 2022) which sounds like a bit of a 60s throwback that may be 'spoilt' for some by the rock guitar half-way through.
