J.P. Bimeni is a Burundi refugee who fled to London in the early noughties after the civil war in his home country. He is a descendant of the Burundi royal family.
He releases his sophomore album with The Black Belts, "Give Me Hope", due on 4 Feb 2022 which follows the debut "Free Me" from 2018 which was BBC 6 Music's album of the year. The title track of the new album, "Give Me Hope", was released as a single in Nov 2021 followed by "James Stern" in Dec.
The third single from the forthcoming album is "Four Walls" released on 19 Jan 2022.
