From the 30 second sound clip on Amazon this sounded 'promising' but
after listening to the full version, it is far too long at 8:13 (I got
bored with it very quickly) and the vocals sound too
blue-eyed. I'm assuming that Randy Roberts is the same person as in Randy Roberts & The Capital Strokes, an Italian funk group.
It's the phat heavy, funky bassline, if anything, that saves it.
One of those occasions where the instrumental would probably be better
than the vocal, but there doesn't appear to be one available, usually they
put out six mixes, three short plus three extended, of which two are
instrumentals.
It is, of course, a cover of The Temptations 1966 hit.
