Portrait
debuted in 1992 with the single 'Here We Go Again'. This is their fifth
album since their debut self-titled album in 1992.
Although this was officially released Jan 2020, it has only just become
available digitally on 27 Feb 2021, and perhaps due to COVID vinyl
releases were delayed?
The top tracks, for me, are: 'Love Song', 'Cum Over', 'Closer' and 'Clear', but it's a consistent album throughout.
'Love Song', samples Kool & The Gang's
'Summer Madness' (which was released as flip to 'Get Down On It' in 1981) also
sampled by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince (an alias used by actor
Will Smith) on
'Summertime'
in 1991.
