Akinola Pedro feat. Ballad [2024] - crave [Inno Circle]

Born in Washington D.C. to Nigerian parents of West African and Afro-Brazilian descent, L.A. based Akinola Pedro launched his career in 2016 as AkinG Kalld Pedro with the release of his debut Mixtape/EP "Brazilian XXXstar".

Five albums an umpteen singles later, his latest single is "crave" and features Ballad who is Angolan Petrus Pereira from Brockton, MA.

Robert Glasper feat. SiR & Alex Isley [2023] - Back To Love [Loma Vista Recordings]

The new single from Robert Glasper, "Back To Love" feat. SiR & Alex Isley is a ballad featured in the second series of TV sitcom "Run The World" which commenced on 26 May.

Alex Isley is, of course, the daughter of Ernie Isley who is in high demand featuring on numerous artists recordings, as well as her own, in recent years. 

SiR is Sir Darryl Farris from Inglewood, CA, who debuted in 2015 and, coincidentally, covered The Isley's "Footsteps in the Dark Pts. 1 &2" in Nov 2020 to a good reception.

Estee Pierce [2021] - Spoil You [Branamian Records]

One of the best 'pure' soul releases I've heard for a while from a new name to me Estee Pierce. He released an album in 2016 titled 'Life Stories' (posted here)

The only other release I can find from him was a Christmas single in 2019.

I can find no info for Estee Pierce apart from what I can find on his facebook page which indicates that he's probably from the Newport News / Hampton area of Virginia. New Bio posted here.

Teri Tobin [2021] - Thank You Enough [Self Released]

From one Tobin (David A.) to another. Teri Tobin's last single 'You Are' was only released a month ago (2 Apr), but she's released another specifically for US Mother's Day (9 May) called 'Thank You Enough' which is a light, airy, soulful ballad tribute to mothers. 

It seems be only available on BandCamp at the moment, released yesterday (6 May 2021).

The singer from Arizona released her debut album 'Love Infinity' in 2011 and followed it up in 2014 with 'Truth Is' on her Sōl 2 Kēp label ('soul to keep').

Delious [2021] - Friendship After Love [Trijon Entertainment]

A new solo single from Delicious (Kennedy) of the R&B group All-4-One (who had a world-wide #1 hit (#2 UK) with 'I Swear' in 1994) was released 14 Feb 2021. This is in a similar vein, a smooth love ballad.

Mary Cross [2020/21] - Promise / In Love There's A Risk [Self Released]

A double helping of Mary Cross. I've already posted both these tracks but she has since released a new video for 'Promise'. It's a 'slow burner'. I wasn't sure about it when I first heard it as I was comparing it with her stunning debut 'In Love There's A Risk' and I still don't think it matches that standard, but it has grown on me and it's a bit unfair to compare as these are both standout tracks 'out of the blocks' as her first two releases.

It may be my ears(?) but I think the sound quality on this video is poor. Also, note that the first 1:40 is a clip from 'In Love There's A Risk' before 'Promise' starts.
