Sherri Amoure [2022] - A Fool [Sherri Entertainment]

Sherri Amoure (Shirley Ann Curtis) was born and raised in Washington, D.C. but now living in L.A. She has released around nine singles and a four track EP "Complex" since 2018. 

Her latest single "Fool" is released today (15 Jun 2022) and, having quickly skimmed her earlier material, this is the best so far as most of her other material is R&B with explicit lyrics.

This one is also flagged as explicit but, apart from a few sh*t words, I don't hear much else offensive.

Piper-Grace [2022] - My Head [Self Released]

Ahead of her appearance at the Global Soul Showcase on 3 July, Piper-Grace releases her new single "My Head" today (15 Jun 2022). I personally think it's her best to date, and will undoubtedly get 'hammered' by Global Soul jocks, and rightly so.

It's only her third single (if you discount the later acoustic mix of her first). Her debut was "Thing Lovers Do" last Sep (2021) (followed by an acoustic version in Nov) and then "Caught Up" (Jan 2022).  She is currently working on a debut EP "Distractions".

T-Groove & George Kano Experience [2022] - Lady Champagne [P-Vine] (Full Album)

A Jazz / Funk / Disco project assembled by Japanese producer / arranger / remixer / composer Yuki "T-Groove" Takahashi and drummer George Kano featuring great real musicians from Japan and France. 

They released the title track "Lady Champagne" as a single in April (2022) which, at the time, I commented that it seemed a little short even at 3:34 (hinting that it was leaving us wanting more), well this new album version is a delightful 6:04. 

"Do It Baby" is the only other track that has already seen light of day, as a single on 18 May.

I note that they do a version of Herbie Hancock's "Cantaloupe Island" which Mario Biondi also did on his "Dare" album last year. It's the only non original track on the album.

Japanese guitarist Yuma Hara features on "Timeless Groove".

This is a really good album. 'Adult' nu disco / jazz funk rather than a lot of the 'cheesy' stuff that does the rounds (but generally doesn't get posted here).

I'm still trying to fully digest the album but haven't come across any tracks that I don't particularly like.

Lynese [2022] - 9pm (Late Night) [Self Released]

Lynese (Martin) is a relatively new artists from Atlanta, GA, who debuted in Aug 2020 with a single "Luvsick" and followed it with another "Lover Boy" in Feb 2021 and an EP "Love Lyrese" in Sep 2021.

Her third single "9pm (Late Night)" is released today (15 Jun 2022).
