Jazmine Sullivan [2022] - Heaux Tales, Mo' Tales: The Deluxe [RCA] (Full Album)

Just over a year after she released "Heaux Tales" on 8 Jan 2021, Jazmine Sullivan releases "Heaux Tales, Mo' Tales: The Deluxe" today (11 Feb 2022) which is "Heaux Tales" (1-14) plus another ten new tracks (15-24).

Focussing just on the new tracks the best of the bunch, for me, are "Hurt Me So Good" and "Roster". "Tragic" was released as a single in Jun 2021.

Neila [2022] - Think Of Me [Self Released]

Neila (aka Ashley Newman from Atlanta, GA)  release a deluxe edition of her 2020 album "What's Your Sign?" in Nov 2021 . Her first release since then came out today (11 Feb 2021) in the form of a single "Think Of Me".

It's fairly typical female neo soul fare which is 'OK' and better than a lot of the same ilk but it's the same old, same old with nothing really making it memorable or stand out. A better bet is "Keep Going" from the album.

Roann [2022] - Heaven on Earth [Synergy SD]

The sisters are certainly doing it for themselves today. This will be the eleventh female release posted today.

Roann Mesina is from San Diego with a Filipino heritage. As well as a singer/songwriter she is an actress and an event organiser. 

She released her fourth single since her first in 2018 today (11 Feb 2022). "Heaven on Earth" is a neo soul ballad which features Jordan Hawkins.

I've included a video for her last single as there isn't one available for the new single.

Brandy Haze [2022] - Silhouette, Vol. 2 [Rich By 30 Records] (EP)

Brandy Haze featured here at the end of January with her single "Anxious" which is also included on her latest six track EP "Silhouette, Vol. 2" released today (11 Feb 2022).

I think the standout is "Voodoo", with "Anxious" and "Swing My Way" being others which may appeal. 

At the time of posting the single no video for it was available but one has been uploaded to her YouTube channel today, presumably to coincide with the EP release.

Ms.NAE [2022] - Let's Vibe [Self Released] (Full EP)

A five track EP "Let's Vibe" (11 Feb 2022) from another relative newcomer Ms.NAE (Shanae Carnegie) who states that she is 'TX bred and ATL fed'! (that translates to Texas and Atlanta if you haven't already figured it out).

She has released another five track EP "N.T.I.H.Y.A." (Jul 2020) and two singles "Honestly" (Mar 2021) and "Nostalgia" (Sep 2021) which are both included on the latest EP. 

My choice cut is "ComeBack Love" which sounds like it's got a hint of a sample in there which I originally thought might have been Angie Stone "No More Rain" (which of course sampled Gladys Knight & The Pips "Neither One Of Us") but I hadn't listened intently as I simply didn't have time with so many new releases to wade through. So I passed it over to the 'soul emperor' (DJ Kool Keith) and he's informed me that it is in fact the Force MD's "Tears" from 1984, which I have to confess I wasn't familiar with, and it's a cracking tune (posted below) which was their second hit and came before "Tender Love". So brownie points to KK. I might even post his next week's podcast for that (and don't be surprised if he features both tracks)!

Shel [2022] - Heartbreak Café [ThingsGetBetter] (Full EP)

Released on 28 Jan 2022 is a six track EP "Heartbreak Café" by Shel (Shelby Bates). This is a very good EP, to steal a phrase 'all killers no fillers' but if forced to choose I'd select "Caffeine" "likethat" and "0502" as my standouts but you could pick any of the tracks.

I'm not able to find anything out about the artist who, from writers credits, I'm guessing is Shelby Bates. She seems to have emerged in 2020 and has a full album "Perfectly Unbalanced" (16 Oct 2020) and two previous singles "Head Space" (11 Jun 2021) (another that uses 'that' recurring sample)  and "Orange Heart" (22 Oct 2021) under her belt which are also well worth checking out.
