DiCE_NZ [2022] - Tear Your House / Cali' Dream' (Highrollers #4) [Discoholics Anonymous Recordings]

Discoholics Anonymous Recordings, the guys that brought us the recent compilation "Baby Making Music" featuring Secret Soul Society mashup of Yolanda Adams / Marvin Gaye called "Sensitive People", also released a couple of tracks on 11 Apr 2022 in, what looks like, a series' Highrollers #4". These two tracks are mixed by DiCE_NZ aka Dave Ti & Friends from New Zealand.

The first cut is a reworking of Ann Peebles 1972 single "I'm Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down" and the other is the standard "California Dreaming" a hit for The Mama's & Papa's  in 1965. I'm not sure who's version (if any) this is based on but sounds blue-eyed and there are hundreds (probably over 300) to choose from, but if you know leave a comment.

India France Feat. Baylee Blu, Daniel Duke Jordan & Billy Doyle [2022] - Tempting [India For President]

"Tempting" (released yesterday 15 Apr 2022) appears to be the second single from India France (aka India De Boisgelin) which features Baylee Blu, Billy Doyle, Daniel Duke Jordan. Her first single "You're Everything" was released  on 6 Apr 2022.

I can't find anything about the artist but assume her to be English from the 'chatter' at the end of the track. Her surname is French so perhaps she's of Indian / French descent?

This is one of those that some consider neo soul and others indie pop  ... you decide, as I couldn't possibly comment!

Mamilah [2022] - Old Parade [Self Released]

Here's one that seems to have been missed which I had bookmarked but didn't get around to posting before I had a break.

It's the third EP "Old Parade", released on 30 Mar 2020, from seven piece outfit Mamilah from Leeds (UK) consisting of Lydia Kotsirea (vocals), Ash Doherty (keys), Ed Allen (guitar), Freddie Ricketts (bass), Matt Hill (drums), Hannah Mae Birtwell (sax) and Dan Coulthurst (trumpet).

It follows their previous two EPs "Talk Less" (2020) and "Moonlight Walking" (2018) and is a mix of neo soul, jazz and old school soul with "Bow To You" having a Motown/Northern Soul feel and the jazz influence is evident on the title track.

PhylliseJade [2022] - I Loved You First [IAM Entertainment] (Full Album)

PhylliseJade (Phyllise Jade Tolliver) is an 18 year old singer born in Kansas City and raised in Atlanta, GA. She released her debut single "Time" aged 14 in 2018  and followed in it 2019 with "Ancient Love". Her third single "Real Love" appeared in 2021.

On 10 Apr 2022 she released her debut album "I Loved You First".  The standout for me is "Focus On You".

Blair Bryant [2022] - Red Tiger [Innervision Records] (Full Album)

A couple of weeks ago a promo was posted of a track from this, then forthcoming, album which features Beth Griffith on a cover of Sade's "Kiss Of Life". 

The album by bassist Blair Bryant "Red Tiger" was released on Friday (15 Apr 2022) and he's gone with "Chocolate For Breakfast" for the lead single.

Ten of the twelve tracks are original songs with covers of Stevie Wonder's "That Girl" and Sade's "Kiss Of Life" which is the only vocal track.

Blair Bryant is Jazz saxophonist, Najee's, musical director.

"Kiss Of Life" has been selected as SoulStrutter Selection of the Week for wk 15 2022.

J. Michaels Feat. David Margam [2022] - I'll Treat You Right [Coast 2 Coast Music Group]

A nice bit of soulful jazz from J. Michaels featuring guitarist David Margan with song titled "I'll Treat You Right" was released on 22 Mar 2022 which Andy Tee selected for his UK Soul Chart 'Breakers show last night (16 Apr 2022).

J. Michaels (aka Elder Moreh) has worked with Andrae Crouch, The Winans, Vickie Winans, Tramaine Hawkins, Richard Smallwood, Vernessa Mitchell and a host of others. After a period of retirement he set up Coast 2 Coast Music Group and has been releasing a number of recordings since 2021, and "I'll Treat You Right" is his latest offering.

I've also posted a nice little jazz stepper from 2021 "Night Grooves" which features Dave Howard and Yvonne J on vocals whose single "Smile" was posted in Feb.
