All Day Breakfast Cafe feat. Roella Oloro [2023] - Have You Seen This Queen [Jelly's Jams]

All Day Breakfast Cafe are, according to their website, a seven-piece all-female group who have crowned themselves as South London's favourite disco band, yet all their cover images only show six?

All members are individual artists in their own right, playing London's Jazz scene, brought together by Anjelica 'Jelly' Cleaver.

They formed just in time for lockdown, so live performances were restricted until after lockdown (expect for private parties in Downing Street 😉) and have, including their latest single "Have You Seen This Queen", now released seven singles and an EP ("Builders Brew") since Jun '21.

The melody on their new single sounds very familiar but can't quite place it, could it be Shalamar's "A Night To Remember" in places?

Love Moor [2023] - Love 3K [Human Re Sources]

Love Moor is alternative neo soul artist Erica Andrew from Birmingham, AL, with island roots. She last featured here with  her debut six track EP "LOVE"  in March which included three of the four singles she had released to then, "Pacifier" (Feb '23), "Fantasies" (Nov '22) and "Gentle" (Jul '22). In addition she released a full album "Motions" (2020). The EP

Since the EP she's released two single, the latest being "Love 3K" on 28 Jul.

Otis Kane [2023] - Smile [Self Released]

Otis Kane (Anthony Vasquez) is from L.A. who, after years in the background as a producer and multi-instrumentalist, stepped into the spotlight in 2019 and has now released around twenty three singles, two EPs and two albums. 

His latest single is "Smile" released 28 Jul, which is another in the classic soul / retro soul style.

Louis Baker feat. Wallace [2023] - Been and Gone [Self Released]

The new single from New Zealand's Louis Baker is "Been and Gone" released yesterday which features Wallace Gollan originally from Wellington, NZ.

We have to go back to May 2021  when Baker last featured here with a single "Brighter Day" from, his them forthcoming, sophomore album "Love Levitates" released in Jun '21. Wallace has also been featured with her four track EP "Arcade Queen" (May '22).

Baker's first official release came in 2011 with the song "Even In The Darkness". In 2013 he was chosen out of 4000 applicants to take one of only 60 places at the prestigious Red Bull Music Academy in New York after which he spent the summer in London recording his debut self-titled EP released in 2014. He released four singles in 2016-17 followed by his debut album "Open" in 2019 and then "Love Levitates" in 2021.

This is a really nice piece of contemporary blue-eyed soul with a bit of a retro feel that has really grown on us. Their voices blend very well together. Wallace Baker's voice reminds us of Stefan Mahendra who, regular visitors will already know, we rate very highly.

Anne. [2023] - No Mistake. [MABITUAPAH]

A one-off single by an Dutch artist named Anne. (Anne Reijman Hinze) titled "NO MISTAKE.". There's no mistake that it's using a library sample used recently by Raahz on "Joyride" as  well as many others e.g. King Creole "Kiss & Tell".
