Tristan [2023] - Another Season (live club mix) [Isolde]

Dutch band Tristan released their seventh album "Seven" in March. They have subsequently released a few singles from it, two have been live club mixes. The first one being "Diamonds (live club mix)" (18 May) which will be followed by Latin flavoured "Another Season" which is set to be their next release on Friday (14 Jul) (although it has been available on Bandcamp from 30 Jun).

The band line-up is Jaycilee Teterissa (Vocals), Coen Molenaar (keys), Frans Vollink (bass), Sebastiaan Cornelissen (drums) and Guy Nikkels (guitar)

Underdoggz [2023] - Planet Grouve [Self Released] (Full Album)

We believe that "Planet Grouve" is a debut album from Underdoggz who are twin brothers from Berlin. We say 'believe' as we suspect that their music is merged with another group of the same name from The Netherlands but are unable to find much information about them.

One track in particular, "Do You Mind", is doing the rounds but we also like "Don't You Know", "In My Room" and "I Keep Dreaming" which has a retro 60s/70s vibe.

The whole album has a throwback feel from 60s-90sh New Jack Swing  and even 80s feel (i.e. the title track). We've just tagged it as retro soul.

Some have speculated that it is a 90s recording but that is unlikely given that they have a number of recent music videos on their YouTube channel including one for "Do You Mind" below.

Sweatson Klank feat. AYA [2023] - The Limit [Friends Of Friends]

A new name to us, and certainly one you wouldn't forget, is Sweatson Klank (who was formerly know as Take). 

At the end of June he released "The Limit" which has a 80s feel and is the second single from an upcoming album "A Free Mind" due on 23 Sep. It follows "The Road To Love" (19 May) (also included below).

He's a beatmaker/MC/producer from L.A. whose catalogue goes back as far as 1999 under various aliases such as Take, Kirsnick Ball, The Rocket and his real name Thomas Wilson. He seems to have adopted the name Sweatson Klank around 2012 and has 35 singles/EPs and five albums under that moniker and many more under his various aliases.

"Certified Lova" by Bléz from Washington D.C. is the first track released from a forthcoming compilation "The Virgo Lounge presents Mellifluous Vibe" due on 20 Sep.  The single is available now from Bandcamp but only if you pre-order the compilation.

The compilation highlights soulful independent artists which, in addition to Bléz, will include Gwendolyn Collins, Alisha Glover, Mycah Chevalier, Iisma and David Hammett.

The project is dedicated to the memory of Baltimore keyboardist, producer, recording engineer Dawoud Said who all the artists have worked with in some capacity particularly Gwendolyn Collins.
