According to her YouTube details she is a singer/songwriter music teacher from West London who took a break to qualify as a teacher but now she's back!

THEHONESTGUY [2021] - Lost To The Summer [Self Released]

The title of this says it all ... "Lost To The Summer", as I never saw this when it was released on 25 Jun 2021 and haven't seen it being played anywhere, so let's rectify that!

THEHONESTGUY is Mubarak Adeyemi from Toronto who emerged in Nov 2019 with a debut three track outing "A Prelude To Love".

Rita Ray [2019] - Old Love Will Rust [Funk Embassy Records] NEW SINGLE DUE 13 AUG!

Why Rita Ray hasn't been getting far more attention is beyond my comprehension as everything she has done so far has been outstanding.  She  debuted in Nov 2019 with an album "Old Love Will Rust" (which sold out of two vinyl pressings) and in March released a new single "Love Ain't The Same" which I posted along with a selection of some of the best tracks from the debut album.

On Friday (13 Aug 2021)  she releases a follow up single "No Greater Love". Both singles are from a forthcoming sophomore album due for release in Nov 2021.

The new single is in a similar vein to "Love Ain't The Same" i.e. a retro 60s/70s sweet soul with a melodic vibe. Real musicians are used in the shape of the Pärnu City Orchestra who perform Rita's own string arrangements on the song which she also composed and produced.

I've been requested not to post the new single until it's release on Friday so in the meantime get to know (or reacquaint yourself with) her music via her debut album posted below, along with the video for her last single and be sure to check out her new single on Friday.

Loose Ends [2021] - Gonna Make You Mine / Forever More (Reprise) [The Digital Jukebox]

This one had me scratching my head a bit as Loose Ends released a track with the same name on the CD version only (i.e. not on LP) of their 1986 album "Zagora". I'm pretty sure it's the same song but with a completely different arrangement (released 10 Aug 2021). I've included both version so you can decide.

They also released a couple of different mixes of it on the flip side to a 12" for "Stay A Little While, Child" in 1986.

The latest release has three tracks and from first listen it sounds like "Gonna Make You Mine" and "Forever More (Reprise)" have been merged to create "Gonna Make You Mine (Forever More Reprise)".

Loose Ends were Carl McIntosh (guitarist/vocals, Jane Eugene (vocals) and Steve Nichol (keyboards) and had a string of UK hits between 1984-92 their biggest being "Hanging On  A String (Contemplating)" followed by "Magic Touch" in 1985 and "Don't Be A Fool" in 1990, all UK top 20 hits.

The original trio split in 1989 with Carl McIntosh retaining the name with new members Linda Carriere and Sunay Suleyman. Jane Eugene still performs using the name Loose Ends Feat. Jane Eugene. Steve Nichol released his first music since the band spilt in 2018 with a single "Dangerous Romance" which features vocalist Ellen Masri and is actually pretty good so I have included it below.
