3TOB [2023] - My Baby / Love Will Find Its Way [Six Nine Records]

Earlier in the year we posted several tracks from 3TOB's album "Trading Places" (the full album was not available in the usual places as the album was a website only release). On 21 May "My Baby" / "Love Will Find Its Way" were released digitally (but streaming only not for sale) by Six Nine Records. 

We have received notification that Six Nine Records is just awaiting the 7" vinyl back from the press and will be releasing it shortly.

3TOB were formed in 2019 by original band members of Tony! Toni! Toné!, and consists of Elijah Baker, Antron Haile, and Carl Wheeler, who have been joined by Jubu Smith on guitar and Amar Khalil (who took over as lead singer following Raphael Saadiq’s exit from the group in 1998).

Maryon [2023] - Congratulations [Self Released]

A debut single called "Congratulations" from Maryon Morales which is a rather pleasant ballad.

She is from Santiago, Chile, and a Mathematics Civil Engineering graduate from one of Chile's top universities, Santa Maria University, graduating in 2022.  

Maryon started an internship for 'Big Blue', IBM, in March this year. Now there's a blast from the past as spent many years wrestling with those mainframe beasts long before Microsoft, Windows, Apple Macs, the internet, Google and smart phones came along and thought that they were now extinct!

TimaLikesMusic [2023] - Love, Daddy Princess [Self Released] (Full EP)

We have to admit that this one took a few listens to warm to as we're not the greatest fans of 80s style soul music ... you had to have been there coming out of the 70s to witness how diluted it had become with the advent of computers, synthesisers and drum machines! Several tracks on this new EP, "Love, Daddy Princess", by TimaLikesMusic have that feel.

On first scan through we liked "Time To Let Go" ... until the rap set in half-way through! The two tracks that do stand out though both feature Manhattan jazz singer Amanda Barise, the opening track with a jazzy muted horn "Daddy Princess Hotline" and "Let's Open It Up".

TimaLikesMusic is 26 year old singer/songwriter Fatima Diakite from Brooklyn, NYC, who's been around since 2016 but this is the first time we've featured any of her muisc.

Cosha [2023] - Sun Back [Ashtown Lane]

Cosha (Cassia O'Reilly) releases her new single, "Sun Black" which is her first release since her sophomore album "Mt. Pleasant" in Jul '21 which followed "R.I.P. Bonzai" in Jun '18.

Cosha was born in Indiana and raised in County Wicklow and Dublin moving to London aged 17. She debuted under the name Bonzai in 2015 aged 19 releasing three EPs and several singles before changing her artist name to Cosha in 2018.

A music video for the new single premieres on 17 Aug but that's too far away to post now so we've gone with the standard audio only video.

Chelle Nae [2023] - Daydreaming About You / I'm On A Mission [JC3 Records]

Chelle Naé (Dachelle Denae Washington) is a singer-songwriter originally from West Phoenix, AZ, known for her live performances and nominated for AZ R&B Artist of the Year in 2022 from two different sources.

Her music has been featured In the film "The Unhitch King" directed by Iroc Daniels, a comedy rated 8.3 by IMDB.

She released a double single on 1 Aug "Daydreaming About You" / "I'm On A Mission", neither of which we can find on YouTube, therefore, to hear the tracks in full you'll need to open in Spotify by clicking in song title on the embed below.

Spotify hasn't yet resolved the issue of enabling samples only from website embeds, so we assume that it is intentional, which is a foolish decision in our opinion as it will probably result in websites no longer embedding from Spotify which will impact streaming fees (for what they are worth) for music providers.
