28 (NE) Diplomats Of Soul - Never Gonna Fall In Love Again (Like I Fell In Love With You)

Now this is an interesting release. A reworking of Carmen Armez - Never Gonna Fall In Love Again (Like I Fell In Love With You) modern soul / boogie tune released on Elsa (private press?) in 1983.  The song is written by Paul Anka. It came out in at least 3 different formats 7" & 12" and a 33 1/3 rpm 7" with the full 7 minute version. Carmen Armez released around half a dozen singles in late 70s/ early 80s and is clearly a blue-eyed singer.

This re-recording obviously has something to do with Incognito as it features Vanessa Hayes on vocals and produced by Bluey. Released on Expansion who have posted 3 different mixes on YouTube, full version, radio version and instrumental.  This is the full version.

Carmen Amez [1983] - Never Gonna Fall In Love Again (Like I Fell In Love With You) [Elsa #5790]

This is the full 7 min 12" original version.

29 (30) The Parkmans - I'm Good

30 (NE) Los Charly's Orchestra Feat. Xantone Blacq - Fly Away (Seamus Haji Mixes)

I've posted the original released in May 2020 as can't find any of the remixes as yet.  In fact the remixes are not even yet available on Amazon even though there is an entry for them.  This, shall we just say,  'intrigues' me how something can feature in a chart that is not even available for sale  - like the Take Three track which I have been searching for for several weeks!  Of course the chart is possibly/probably devised from Starpoint DJ's preferences rather than sales!

Evette Busby [2020] - Ready For Love [Self Released?]

Great new release from Evette Busby which came out 23rd Oct 2020.  Perfect feel and tempo for modern soul / steppers dance floors .. and what a voice!  I'm not sure whether this has already been in and out of the UK Soul Chart (as missed a few weeks), but if not I fully expect it to feature in the next week or so.  This is one of the best new releases I've heard this year.  If this was a rare vinyl discovery from 70/80s there would be a hullabaloo  ... but of course because it's digital only it will be overlooked and some 'enterprising' individual will get it pressed on limited edition vinyl and there will be a commotion! Get it now while its available on Amazon and other good digital sources.
