I've rearranged the charts this week from now onwards so Global Soul
chart will feature first and if Starpoint don't 'get their act together'
it will be dropped altogether, as it is increasingly reading predominantly like a pop /
disco chart rather than having credible soul entries.
A few 'observations': How Michon Young only rises one place whilst others
rise more rapidly seems incredulous. Brandon Wattz was released on 14 Feb (posted here 3 Mar) and 13 weeks later enters chart? Mark & Beverly Knight was
released four weeks ago on 23 Apr, so why has it only now miraculously
entered straight in at #4? Binky Womack has been out since 20 Apr and
four weeks later enters chart. Whilst I do like Raj-Nee', it
has been in the charts for 6 weeks dropping 5 last week only to rise again 6 this week! If anyone responsible for the charts at Starpoint would like to
comment on how their chart is compiled it would be welcomed and
appreciated.
There are only two releases that appear in both charts, which highlights the discrepancy outlined above, as if both charts were truly representative you would expect a much higher number appearing in both. I have
highlighted them in bold and prefixed '+' at beginning of each line
i.e. Reel People and Michon Young.
