Chris Kingdon feat. Kenny Wellington [2023] - Lonnie's Dream [Self Released]

Following on from Zaimie's new album "Fortuitous", here's another Brit jazz/funk instrumental from Chris Kingdon which features the superb trumpet playing of original Light Of The World & Beggar & Co. member Kenny Wellington.

We don't know this for sure, but would hazard a guess that "Lonnie's Dream" is a tribute to the great Lonnie Liston Smith?

Chris Kingdon & Louise Mehan [2022] - Take Our Love To The Top (CK Factory Edit) [Self Released]

Chris Kingdon collaborated with SouLutions vocalist Louise Mehan on a new single "Take It To The Top" which was released 17 Jun 2020 from SouLutions website. Chris Kingdon has done a new mix, the CK Factory Edit, which gives the song an added soulful house edge and is available on Bandcamp from 5 Aug 2022.

Originally Chris Kingdon recorded a backing track which he sent to SouLutions' Louise and Steve Lee to work with.  Steve already had the lyrics to a song which, as luck would have it, suited the backing track, he worked on adding to the musicality and production of the track incorporating Louise's wonderful vocals. Kingdon's initial aim was to produce a modern track that was full of soul, but with a twist of retro, that pumped out a Philly groove.  

Chris and Louise have collaborated previously on "My Song" last year which is also available from SouLutions website.

Chris Kingdon collaborates with SouLutions vocalist Louise Mehan on a superb new single "Take It To The Top" which is to be released next Friday (17 Jun 2020) from SouLutions website and I also understand that it will be available on Bandcamp.

Louise has just completed her outstanding performance supporting Shalamar at the London Palladium on Thursday (2 Jun 2022) and has to be one of the best female blue-eyed soul vocalists in the UK right now.
