CLAY [2024] - Love's Song [Self Released] (Full Album)

CLAY is a Christian music group based in the Washington, DC area who have been working together in various forms for many years, some since college and some since childhood. The group consists of 5 singers, Brittny Gartrell, Kristyn Frazer, Dalonne Small, Saara McEachnie and Dwight Monkou and composer/arranger Colville Heskey.

You may remember their single from the tail end of last year "Lovin' U" which followed "Within My Heart" the previous day. Both feature on their debut 12 track album "Love's Song" along with their debut single "Take My Life" from March 2019. The album is a collection of soulful Jazz infused vocal arrangements with an inspirational message that they have been performing over the last 20 years.

CLAY - [2022] - strawberry fields forever [Self Released]

CLAY (Gabrielle Walter-Clay) is a singer-songwriter from San Francisco now based in L.A.  She first (and last) featured here back in March on a single  "WTSGD" (When The Sun Goes Down) with Grammy award winning Canadian singer/songwriter Alessia Cara (Alessia Caracciolo). She has since released another two singles and her debut EP "Breathing Into Bloom" which have passed us by.

Her latest single, out today, may be a bit of a Marmite song to many. Yes, it's a cover of The Beatles song "strawberry fields forever", which I must confess I didn't particularly take to as you would hardly call it soul music, but I think you'll agree CLAY has put her own unique spin on it. I still don't know if you'd classify it as soul music but I like it in a perverse way!

It also comes bundled with a cover of Elvis' "Love Me Tender" to boot!
