Grammy award winning writer/producer/arranger Charlie Bereal has featured here a couple of time previously with more
retro style soul, one a cover of Curtis Mayfield "The Makings Of You" feat. Tweet (Feb '23) and the other a retro sweet soul
ballad "Oh Baby" (Aug '22)
He started out with a nine-piece gospel group The Soul
Seekers. He has written songs recorded by Mary Mary, Deborah Cox, Tweet, Mya,
R Kelly, Kelly Rowland, Raphael Saadiq, Jamie Foxx, Leela
James and even Whitney Houston. He's also worked with Queen Latifah, Tank, Missy Elliot, Madonna and many others.
Since 2015 he's released around seven solo singles and two albums. He
featured here last with a retro sweet soul tune in Aug 2022.
His latest offering, "Get Down", is the first since "Oh Babay" and, whilst still retaining a certain
retro feel, is more contemporary and features his wife
Cherese (Chambers) Bereal.
