The new single from London singer-songwriter-pianist, Natalie Duncan, is "Silver Gun" due on 24 Feb '23. It comes bundled with a Lenzman Remix and Lenzman Instrumental remixed by Amsterdam-based Drum & Bass producer, Lenzman (Teije van Vliet) with his trademark soulful touch and classic jungle groove.
Of the song Natalie says: "This song started life as a dark-sounding synth motif with a quick drum loop I made. With drummer Richard Spaven then adding his own signature drum style to the final take, it resulted in an even weirder, cooler, rhythmic sound. Adding Alan Mian’s dirty Synth bass parts and layering the other synths to thicken the sonics, I feel like I’m really living my Radiohead fantasy here! The lyrics are empowering, and I wanted the vocal to be really close-mic’d for an intimate sound…"
Nottingham-raised, London-based, Natalie Duncan first came to the attention of those in the know in 2009, aged 18, with the release of her debut EP "Natalie Alexis Duncan". However, it was her involvement in the BBC TV three part series "Goldie's Band By Royal Appointment" in 2011, the brainchild of drum and bass pioneer Goldie, that she came to wider attention. She was signed to Decca Records and produced her first, critically acclaimed, album "Devil in Me", in 2012 and later that year appeared on BBC TV show "Later with Jools Holland" which led to her touring as support for the band Muse.
Duncan's second album "Free" in the summer of 2020 (the album and live performance were posted in Dec 2021) launched Goldie’s Fallen Tree 1Hundred label. In turn Natalie launched the album with a live, intimate recording at Ronnie Scott's and followed that up with a seminal show at London's Jazz Café.
