Natasha Watts [2023] - Brighter Days [Self Released]

It's been a while since the UK's Natasha Watts has featured on these pages. Apr 2021 to be exact with her vinyl release "Go Slow" / "Change" on LRK Records, two songs taken from her 2014 debut, self-titled, album for Cool Million's Sedsoul.

Natasha burst onto the UK Soul music scene back in 2009 with her first collaboration with Cool Million with a track called "Show Me" (from "Cool Million III") which went on to become a firm favourite. However, her musical journey began long before that, travelling to the US aged 16 with Maze percussionist Roame Lowrey during which she performed with gospel legend Kirk Franklin. Upon returning to the UK in 1996 she had her son Taylor which put her music career on the back burner.

Following "Show Me" she had a hit with "Back 2 U" from the compilation "Blacktree Music Presents: Soul Seeds, Vol. One" in 2012.

"Born A Star" was the first release from her eponymous debut album in 2013 which launched her recording career. Off the back of her debut album came the opportunity to support artists such as Gladys Knight on her UK tour. In 2012/13 she supported Betty Wright in the UK and also appeared at Luxury Soul Weekender in Blackpool

The sophomore album, aptly titled "2nd Time Around", arrived in 2016 which led to UK #1 soul chart hits, magazine covers, duets and support slots with a number of notable artists such as The Fatback Band, Shalamar (at the London Palladium) as well as opening for The O'Jays (at London's Theatre Royal) and supporting Lisa Stansfield, Omar, Candi Staton, Incognito and her own sell-out solo shows.

Following "My Next Chapter" from 2018, Natasha returns with her long-awaited fourth studio album, "Music Is My Life" from which the lead single will be "Brighter Days" on 20 Feb.'23. The new album will be available to pre-order from her website from 27 Feb '23.

Natasha has a number of UK dates lined up in the next few months:

25 Mar - Cardigan Theatre, Mwldan
02 Apr - The Haymarket, Basingstoke
07 Apr - Bush Hall, London
