David A. Tobin and producer Rob Hardt tackle Spandau
Ballet's biggest hit "True". It was Spandau Ballet's only #1 UK chart hit in April/May 1983 which
spent fifteen weeks on the chart with four weeks at the top.
Not many soul artists have attempted to cover this song and I was
almost put off posting it by comments made by another, who shall remain
nameless to protect the guilty, but I gave it a listen and I think that
it's not as bad a version as portrayed to me. It's always going to be tricky covering such an
iconic song but I think David A. Tobin may have pulled it off in some eyes, but there will always be the 'haters'!
