WILSN [2023] - These Days Are Over [Ivy League Records] (Full Album)

Having teased us since Mar 2022 with incremental releases of singles which have included all the previous singles, WILSN has finally released the full album "These Days Are Over" today (3 Feb '23). The album contains thirteen tracks, six of which have been released over the months a singles.

The previously released singles are tracks 1 to 6 i.e. "You Know Better"  (3 Dec '21), "Tell Me" (25 Mar '22), "Me Or Her"  (4 Aug '22), "If  You Wanna Love Me" (29 Sep '22), "Hurts So Bad" (22 Nov '23) , "These Days Are Over" (18 Jab '23). There are videos for each of these below.

So that leaves six new songs and a new version of "Hurts So Bad" which is a duet with Josh Teskey of Ivy League label mates The Teskey Brothers, which is one of the standout tracks.

WILSN (aka Shannon Busch) is from Melbourne where she studied jazz at Victorian College of the Arts. She released a debut EP "Don't Give It Up" in 2015 and followed it with a self-titled, six track EP in 2019. She has also supported Charles Bradley, Allen Stone and St Paul & The Broken Bones.

WILSN [2022] - Hurts So Bad [Ivy League Records] (Full EP)

A new six track EP from WILSN titled "Hurts So Bad" with the title track featuring The Teskey Brother's Josh Teskey. This should come as no big surprise as she toured with The Teskey Brothers recently on a UK/European tour and is signed to the same label.

She featured here in Sep '22 with a four track EP "If You Wanna Love Me" which at the time we suspected was an incremental release and all four tracks are featured on this latest edition. Only the first two tracks are new songs from her last release. It would appear that this isn't the final cut as she has a full album, "Those Days Are Over", due on 3 Feb 2023.

I'm not sure the pricing on Amazon is correct as it's £10.29 for a 6 tracker, a full album is generally £7.99, perhaps that is the price of the full album when it's due!

WILSN [2022] - If You Wanna Love Me [Ivy League Records] (Full EP)

WILSN (aka Shannon Busch) is from Melbourne where she studied jazz at Victorian College of the Arts. She spent a couple of years in the US where she was asked to perform with The Teskey Brothers on their UK/European tour and is now signed to the same label and released her second single "Tell Me" on 25 Mar 2022.

She released a debut EP "Don't Give It Up" in 2015 and followed it with a self-titled, six track EP in 2019. She has also supported Charles Bradley, Allen Stone and St Paul & The Broken Bones.

A four track EP titled "If You Wanna Love Me" has been released today which contains two tracks ("Tell Me" and "You Know Better") that were released together in Mar 2022 as "Tell Me". In fact a third track from the EP "Me Or Not" was also released earlier this year (4 Aug) and  "You Know Better" in Dec 2021, so I guess she is building up to a full album?

The opening track "If You Wanna Love Me" is very Motownesque and reminds me a little of an unreleased Melba  Moore song "Magic Touch" issued originally as a 100 Club anniversary single in 1986 written by Ted Daryll and originally recorded by a blue-eyed pop group The Bobby Fuller Four (from El Paso,TX) on Mustang in 1966. It was quite a big Northern Soul tune circa 1976 before it was known that an unreleased version by Melba Moore lay in the Musicor vaults.
