Twism & B3RAO [2023] - Your Lovin' [Soulful Legends]

We really are scratching around and scraping the barrel for decent  new releases to post this week so we'll do what we occasionally do and see if Traxsource has much to offer.

The first one is a reworking of Teena Marie's 1980 Motown (Gordy) anthem "I Need Your Lovin'" simply re-titled as "Your Lovin'" by DJ/producer duo Twism & B3RAO. It's out a week on Friday (21 Jul).

Twsim is Brian Rawson from L.A. and heads up the Soulful Legends label whilst B3RAO is Nathaniel Almeida from Boston.

Their last single in April was "Who's Right" which is based on Janet Jackson's "What Have You Done For Me Lately" (1986).

Jaegerossa [2023] - Disputed [Midnight Riot!]

Theoretically released on Friday (23 Jun), but we can only find it currently available on Bandcamp, is a reworking of Undisputed Truth's "You + Me = Love" from 1976. It was their only chart entry into the UK pop chart peaking at #43 in Jan 1977 (it reached #37 R&B and #48 Hot 100). The lead singer at this time was Yvonne Stevens aka Taka Boom who is the younger sister of Chaka Khan (Yvette Stevens).

This rework, titled "Disputed" derived from the group name, has been done by Jaegerossa  aka Phil Rose and Chris Hunter from Chorley / Preston.

The Realm feat. H'Atina [2023] - Love Hurts [Self Released]

The latest offering from the prolific Manny The Realm Rahelu features L.A.'s H'Atina on a reworking of Juanita Dailey's "Love Hurts" from her 1998 album "Free". Manny takes the tempo up a notch or two from the original version.

H'Atina delivered her four track EP "The Elements of a Real Man" last Sep which contained the chart topper "Be Mine" (released as a single in Feb '22) and has since released another single "Foolish Heart" in Mar '23.

Having been posted from promo earlier this wee, the new single is out today on all the main digital platforms today (12 May '23) and is from the forthcoming album "The Time Is Now".
