Nia Wyn [2021] - Who Asked You [Self Released]

Welsh singer Nia Wynn was featured here last month with a single "What Do You Expect" with Shuko released at the end of Jun. She's since released another single "Dangerous" which wasn't posted as it's predominantly a rap track featuring Aaron Unknown.

Her latest effort is "Who Asked You" (released on 18 Aug 2021) which also comes with an edbl remix which 'inevitably includes a section of rap by Keiron Boothe. edbl (aka Ed Black) is certainly getting around a bit at the moment!

The non-rap version originally appeared on her eight track EP "Tale A Seat" released in March. (Confused? an 8 tracker regarded as an EP and the last post from Amaria a 7 track album ... who decides?)

Nia Wyn Feat. Shuko [2021] - What Did You Expect [Self Released]

I think you could pigeon-hole this as 'left-field'! A bit of an unorthodox voice, similar to Duffy, which may not be surprising as she is also from North Wales.

I was fully expecting a rap interjection when I saw that it features a name like Shuko, but thankfully no rap! It turns out that Shuko is a German based beatmaker, producer, songwriter.

She's an emerging artist who has already supported Paul Weller and Paloma Faith. She states her influences include Northern Soul, the jazz/blues of Billie Holiday and Lauryn Hill. She released an eight track EP "Take A Seat" in March this year. Her debut solo release was in March 2019 with a six track, self-titled EP.
