Michelle David & The True-Tones [2024] - Brothers & Sisters [Record Kicks] (Full Album)

Having pre-released two singles ("Brothers & Sisters" and "This Is You") from their debut album for their new label Record Kicks, Michelle David & The True-Tones slipped out  "Brothers & Sisters"  on 5 Apr whilst we were on our Easter break.

It's a bit of a mixed bag of retro 60s style songs with out and out Northern Soul style stompers, to Southern Soul, gospel, and even one with rock-a-billy feel ("More Grace"?).

The two singles aside, "Miracles", "Karma" and "Cold Cold World" are the new songs that stand out for us on first listen with "If You Don't Try" having a raw/raucous appeal that borders on punk rock! 

We felt that the first two singles were a tad 'derivative' i.e. "Move On Up" and "Walls Come Tumbling Down" and "If You Don't Try" also has similarities to something we can't quite place.

Michelle David & The True-Tones [2024] - That Is You [Record Kicks]

Ahead of Michelle David & The True-Tones debut album ("Brothers & Sisters") for their new label Record Kicks due in two weeks on 5 Apr, the second single from it, "This Is You", is released today.

If you thought that the last single was derivative (of "Move On Up"), well we think the new one has a touch of The Style Council's "Walls Come Tumbling Down" in parts?

Michelle David & The True-tones European Tour Dates 2024

To promote their new album "Brothers & Sisters" due on 5 Apr, Michelle David & The True-tones has announced the first run of 22 European dates commencing 31 Mar through to 30 Jun '24.

More dates, presumably including some in the UK?, are still to be confirmed.

The group has just signed to Milan based Record Kicks and this is their debut release for the label, The title track was released as single in Feb (live performance below).

Michelle David & The True-tones [2024] - Brothers And Sisters [Live at MDTT]

On 30 Jan we alerted you to the forthcoming album "Brothers And Sisters" by Michelle David & The True-tones with the lead single which was pre-released on Bandcamp. It was then released on all platforms the following week. 

We still have just over three weeks to wait for the album due on 5 Apr and no further tracks have been leaked as yet. However, a couple of weeks ago the group performed the lead single live, video below.
