Kendra Morris [2023] - What I’m Waiting For [Karma Chief]

The title track from Kendra Morris' upcoming album "I Am What I’m Waiting" (due on 25 Aug) is released today.

It sounds a bit like 60s garage to these ears but we offer it up as perhaps a sample of things to come.

It's not that long since she released her last album "Babble" in March which again was a bit of a mixed bag with some soulful moments but with pop and rock which we didn't feel was soulful enough to be posted.

Kendra Morris [2022] - Nine Lives [Karma Chief]

The third album from Kendra Morris, "Nine Lives", was released yesterday (18 Feb 2022) on Colemine subsidiary Karma Chief, available digitally and on CD.

Several tracks have been drip fed over the last few month prior to the release of the full album which I've chosen not to post and wait for the full album release.

The title track "Nine Lives" was released last week (11 Feb), "Penny Pincher" on 4 Jan and "This Life" / "Who We Are" on 24 Sep 2021.

Kendra Morris' music is hard to define, whilst it is soulful in places, it is also pop/rock. My two 'soulful' picks from the album are "Drag On" and "Someone Else" for what it's worth. I quite like "Dry" as well.

Kendra Morris [2021] - This Life / Who We Are [Karma Chief Records]

Another double-sider from Kendra Morris on Colemine subsidiary Karma Chief which follows "Catch The Sun" / "When We Would Ride" released at the beginning of Sep.

Both "This Life" and "Who We Are" were co-written with Jeremy Page and released on 24 Sep 2021.

The preferred side is "This Life" which has a dramatic/orchestral, almost Bond theme like, feel, whilst "Who We Are" veers towards the pop spectrum.

It's a difficult one to pigeon-hole, but presented for your 'delectation'! Soul? .. you decide!
