Gina Sedman [2021] - Prodigal [Gico Music]

Staying with the contemporary gospel soul tip. The new single from Gina Sedman (previously Carey) "Prodigal" (released 31 Aug 2021) is a real grower. When I first heard it when released I wasn't too sure about it (perhaps because I'm a Scottish born 'heathen'!) but it seems to be gaining traction and after a few listens I've warmed to it (so perhaps not a complete heathen after all ... redemption is on it's way!).

Gina Carey recently married DJ Andrew Sedman (who actually lives not far from me and Leigh 'The Flava" Taylor in this hotbed of home counties soul!), hence the name change. Nepotism I hear you cry, well not really as I was upfront about my initial reservations and reticence to post!

Gina's last single "Fallen" was posted in April.

Gina Sedman [2021] - Fallen [Gico Music]

Last month I posted a sample of Gina Sedman's new single 'Fallen' which was due for release 12  Apr 2021, but was delayed until 18 Apr (on Amazon at least). I'd forgotten about the release date so omitted to repost with full version, so here it is in its' entirety. It's three weeks late but needs another push.

Gina Sedman [2021] - Fallen [Gico Music]

A new single from Gina Sedman (previously known as Carey, Green, Brown). She has recently married UK DJ/percussionist Andrew (DJ Prone) Sedman who is also her manager and percussionist.

The song is mellow, soulful jazz tune with hypnotic melodies written (for her husband), arranged and produced by Gina Sedman who sings all lead and backing vocals supported by Peewee Hill (double bass & drums),  Andrew Sedman (percussion) and Mika Violin (Chelariu Mihai Mika) (violins).

The single will only be available from her official website, but she has kindly sent a copy to the blog to review, which I have agreed not to share, but can wholeheartedly recommend. You can read about it here.
