The Paradise Projex is a UK collective led by Phil Edwards with former associates and
new talent. If you remember they released a self-titled four track EP almost two years ago now on 31 Jul '21.
They now have an album forthcoming in late Autumn and before it's
release have, what they are calling, a debut single (as the last release
was an EP), "Here & Now", which we posted the radio edit for on Saturday, is released on today
(3 July). It consists of radio edit, extended and dub mixes.
The song was written by Phil in conjunction with Paul Johnson, who has
recorded it, as has Mica Paris, but never released. This new recording
features the vocals of Charlotte Kelly.
Charlotte is from Coventry and was previously a lead singer with Soul
II Soul. She released three solo albums (1996-99) in between her stints
with Soul III Soul (1995-97 and 2010-13).
Phil has been involved in the music industry since his teenage years.
He was a co-founder of the UK Band, Paradise which included brother
Karlos (who's new album "Welcome to My World" we posted only last week) and Paul Johnson. They released thee albums
and had a UK top 40 pop chart hit with "One Mind Two Hearts" in
1983.
Following the band's success, Phil became a well-respected session
keyboard player throughout the 80s and 90s, and worked with artists such
as Gloria Gaynor, Mariah Carey, East 17, Gabrielle, All Saints, The
Human League, and Mica Paris.
