Two new albums are in the pipeline for 83 year old veteran southern soul singer
William Bell. The first is a compilation from
Ace/Kent "The Man In The Street - The Complete 'Yellow' Stax Singles" due on 24 Feb which follows "Never Like This Before - The Complete 'Blue' Stax Singles 1961-1968" from May 2022. The second on his own label Wilbe, "One Day Closer To Home", due on 4 Apr '23
The title track from his Wilbe album was released last August and the
second single "Let's Make Loving Great Again" was released last Friday (10 Feb) to give you a flavour for the forthcoming album. I get the impression that it may be gospel influenced from the two
singles pre-released.
