We've already had a several teasers from this album by
Danny Boy over recent months starting with "Done Me Wrong" (14 Jul '22) "This Song" (31 Aug '22) and "Crazy" (13 Jan '23 and finally "OD" (27 Jan '23). The full album "Black Heart" was released on 14 Jan
'23.
Having already raved over "This Song", which seems to have passed most of us by when released as a single last
August, and "Done Me Wrong", other choice cuts from the album include "If you Were Mine", "Just Friends", "Change Ya" and "Can't Wait".
Surprisingly, perhaps, Danny Boy is actually his real name, born Danny
Boy Steward, and whilst "Crazy" has a southern soul feel, Danny is a Chicago, IL, native with strong roots in gospel music. He has been
involved in music since he was a young boy. He gained the attention of Dr.
Dre when 14 and was signed to Death Row Records joining the ranks of Snoop
Dogg, Tupac, Dr. Dre and others releasing his first single for the label
in 1994.
Over the years he has developed his skills as a songwriter, producer and
actor and has lent his voice to artists such as Teena Marie, Norman
Connors and Rick James and featured on recordings by Aaron Hall, Mary J.
Blige, K-Ci & Jojo, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and Tupac Shakur.
